Featuring nearly five hundred images, including many never before published, the exhibition catalog includes a scholarly exploration of Barry McGee’s artistic development and cultural impact by Alex Baker, an oral history compiled by Natasha Boas on diverse impressions of the Mission School, Germano Celant’s illuminating 2002 interview that captures the artist’s unique voice, and a fascinating commentary by Jeffrey Deitch about his experiences working on some of McGee's most important projects. Designed by the artist in collaboration with Conny Purtill, this special edition features thirty-four pages of photographs of the BAM/PFA exhibition, along with images of McGee's most influential installations and street work, and a reproduction of McGee's signature slide lecture, compiled and refined over the past twenty years.
